Dream Big! is a free program that encourages children from infants to those entering 5th grade to enjoy books all summer long. This year, the program begins on June 11th and ends on August 18th. Please visit FCLS’s teen site for information about the teen program, Own the Night.

This year, children will embark on a journey through nighttime themes such as bats, outer space, camping, owls and slumber parties! Visit the library’s online events calendar for details about upcoming events.

Participants will receive a reading log for keeping track of time spent reading during the two 5 week sessions; five hours spent reading or listening to a book earns a prize. Each participant can earn two prizes: one prize in each session. Any extra hours read by children and teens will go to the Readers to the Rescue fund, which will be converted to a donation of up to $2,000. This summer, Readers to the Rescue will support the Samaritan House, a homeless shelter and transitional living program in Kalispell.

Flathead County Library System thanks Park Side Federal Credit Union for their generous financial and volunteer support of the Summer Reading Program for five years consecutively. We also thank the Friends of the Library for sponsoring the Readers to the Rescue, a key portion of SRP that keeps kids reading all summer long.

Sign up for the program starts on June 11th. Call the Children's Department at 758-5822 with questions or for more information.
