Michael Morton
Raised in Michigan and San Francisco, Michael Morton graduated from the University of San Francisco Law School in 1966. He practiced law in the Bay Area until 1981 when he and his family moved to McCall, Idaho where he practiced law and sold real estate for six years. Morton and his family moved to Whitefish in 1987.
Morton gave up the practice of law when he moved to Montana and has been in the lodging business ever since. He currently owns and operates the Cheap Sleep Motel in Whitefish. Morton cites hiking and backpacking as avid pursuits and sees himself as a struggling student of Spanish. In his application for the library board, Morton mentioned a desire to give back to the community that has given him so much over the years.
