The Flathead County Library System, in a partnership with volunteers from The Flathead County Friends of the Library, announced the Homebound Service as the newest addition to the Library Programming array. The Homebound Service aims to deliver materials to Flathead County Library customers who are unable to visit the Library due to illness, accident or disability. In a six month pilot of the program, the Flathead Friends of the Library will deliver within a limited five mile radius of the Main Library in Kalispell. Per Mary Nelesen, Friends Volunteer Coordinator, “We are pleased to be part of this pilot program. Our goal is to share our love of reading with Homebound customers and test the need and capacity on a smaller scale and then expand as resources and requests dictate.” To receive books via this program, a Homebound Service Application can be filled out and mailed to the address on the form. To volunteer to deliver materials, a Volunteer Application can be filled out, as well. For more information on how to receive the Homebound Service, please contact Patty Jones, Flathead County Library Circulation Manager, at 758-5818 or Mary Nelesen, Friends Volunteer Coordinator, at 755-7678. |
