FY 2011 Quick Facts

In FY11...
FCLS cardholders checked out 601,956 books, movies, music CDs and audiobooks from our libraries. Had they purchased these same items, it would have cost over 12 million dollars!
The popularity of downloadable eBooks and audiobooks has skyrocketed in Flathead County. FCLS customers checked out and downloaded over 12,000 items from FCLS's digital collection.
Our customers visited our libraries 401,193 times.
514 programs, such as pre-school storytimes and teen gatherings, saw 14,409 attendees.
FCLS customers used public computers 145,263 times to access email, the internet, and FCLS's online databases.
Library services in Flathead County cost users an average of $16.00 per person, far less than the cost of a single hardcover book at Amazon.com.

| On Wednesday, September 14, FCLS and libraries across the state celebrated Montana Library Day. We asked for comments from library customers, took photos, and gathered statistics. |

There were many happy library visitors that day, and storytime at the Main Library was a big hit, featuring stories about gardens and a sunflower craft.

The Flathead County Library System had 1,368 visitors and 1,797 checkouts on September 14. Our libraries issued 23 new library cards and answered nearly 200 reference questions.
